Yamaha 621 II Bass Clarinet
This is a very good condition Yamaha 621 II Bass Clarinet to low Eb, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has had only one professional owner from new. We have just checked the Bass over in our workshop for any worn pads, or touch corks, an these have been replaced as necessary. and the instrument is now playing well. The pads are all used fish skin, with the larger pads fitted with reflectors. The silver plating is very good throughout, with only slight pitting to the RH "pinky" keys. The bell and crook are both in good condition, there are some slight scratches to the bell, and one scuff, see photos, 3, 10, 11, & 12. The matching serial numbers are 01258. The case does show some slight signs of use, with exterior scuffs and interior stains, however it latches and protects the Bass well. This instrument plays easily and comfortably across the entire range. The Yamaha design, in common with top of the range rival offerings from Buffet and Selmer, features an automatic double over-blowing vent for the 2nd register. The m'piece is a used Vandoren B45 in good condition. In summation this is an excellent quality Bass to low Eb which is offered a a substantial reduction on the price of the equivalent new model the 622 II which retails for £7700.
