Buffet Crampon, Professional B Flat Clarinet
This is a pre-WWII professional Buffet Bb clarinet in Grenadilla wood. At this time Buffet were making a medium bore model at 14.85mm, and with matching serial numbers 25275 this clarinet dates to 1938, a very fine period of manufacture. This was the type of clarinet played by Daniel Bonade, the great Swiss born American clarinettist, who had a great influence on the American school of clarinet playing and produced many famous pupils, including Gigliotti and Marcellus. The German Silver key work is in fine order throughout, and in good regulation. This clarinet has used fish skin pads throughout, which are all in excellent condition. The wood shows minor surface marks, but there are no cracks or repairs, it is in fine order throughout. All parts are original, including the m'piece, which is stamped, "B" on the table [the facing is close and the lay short]. The supplied case shows wear, and has two tears to the interior lining, however it still latches securely and protects the instrument well.
