Lewin Bass Saxophone
NB Due to the high weight of this instrument, please contact us before buying to discuss delivery and shipping options.
An extremely rare Lewin Bass Saxophone, which was part of a large collection of saxophones and clarinets owned by a top London based professional. This sax is stamped USA manufactured, and it is possible that it was actually made by Conn, and has a Lewin stencil. This instrument has seen much use and there are numerous scratches to the lacquer and solder repairs, the worst scratches are pictured in photo 14. It has just had a complete overhaul in tan leather pads at our workshop, and is sold with our full 1year warranty. The serial numbers are 41381, and reference is made to a 1915 USA patent, this suggests a late 1920's or early 1930's date of manufacture. The m'piece is a used Buescher, in good used condition. The gig bag case is a Tenorman, in brown leather in good condition. An attachment is on the bell for a stand, but this is missing. A sling is provided along with some reeds.
