Anonymous Enhanced Boehm B Flat Clarinet
This is a very fine single piece enhanced Boehm Bb clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. It is part of a large collection of clarinets owned by a top London professional. This instrument features all the "bells and whistles" [excepting a low Eb] which makes it almost Full Boehm, i.e. fork Eb/Bb, LH Ab/Eb, & articulated C#/G#. Because of the style of key work and the fact that the clarinet has 2 C#/G# holes, in the manner of a pre WW 1 Buffet, it is likely that this clarinet dates from the first 20 years of the 20th Century, and is of French manufacture. It is hard to believe that such a finely crafted instrument is completely without makers stamp. The key barrels are silver, and this accounts for the large amount of key tarnish. The wood is in excellent condition, as are the pads which are lightly used tan leather. The clarinet is of 15.00mm bore and plays easily and sweetly across the registers with the supplied B&H Calteau m'piece, which tunes it very well. This would make an excellent instrument as a step up from a student resin or plastic clarinet. It comes in a brand new modern gig bag.
