Leblanc, Paris, Alto Clarinet
This Leblanc, Paris, professional model, Grenadilla wood Alto Clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, the last owner being a top London based professional. The condition of the German Silver key work is excellent throughout. The crook is in good condition, with only one tiny ding. The bell has only few light scratches, it is also in very good condition. The wood throughout is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage. The matching serial numbers are 1662, which probably dates to the late 1950s. However this instrument was probably bought new by an American University as the initials SDSU [ South Dakota State University?] and S/N 15710 are etched into each individual piece & marked on the case. The tan leather pads are in excellent condition throughout, almost as new. The mouthpiece is a Vandoren B44 in very good condition. There is also a sling hook, and a sling and selection of reeds are included. The case is worn but fully functional. Given that the cheapest professional Alto, a Yamaha now retails for £5480 new, this instrument is excellent value
