King Marigaux B Flat Clarinet
This is a very good condition King Marigaux Bb clarinet, in Grenadilla wood. This instrument is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. King, were, I believe, the agents for SML. Strasser, Marigaux, and Lemaire were makers specialising in professional, saxophones, oboes and clarinets. Today, as Marigaux, they survive as one of the World's finest oboe manufacturers. In the 1950's their fine professional range of clarinets rivalled Selmer. The build quality of this Bb is excellent, with metal tenon rings and a centre tenon which is metal sleeved.
All the Nickel Silver key work is in very good condition. The wood overall is in excellent condition, with no damage or repairs. The pads are all used fish skin, which are sealing. The matching serial numbers are 01335. The original case is in excellent used condition, for a case dating to the 1950's. The original reed case & cork grease container are present also. The m'piece is a used Vandoren B44. This is a fine responding wide bore Bb at a bargain price, similar to a Selmer Centered Tone.
