Leblanc, Paris, Alto Clarinet
A rare and unique Leblanc Alto Clarinet to low Eb, so rare in fact that this is the only example of its type that Clarinets Direct have ever seen. This Alto clarinet features an acoustically advanced mechanism, much superior to anything currently being manufactured. There is a fully automatic double overblowing mechanism for the second register and also compensating low G/D pad. Therefore this Alto is actually made to the same standard as a top of the range Bass clarinet to low Eb, & like a Bass the overblowing mechanism switches over on D to E in the clarion. The instrument is in superb condition: There is no damage to the German Silver keywork, the bell and crook have plating in excellent condition, with only light scratches. This Alto has just had a complete overhaul in tan leather pads, and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The is no damage to the wood, which is crack and repair free. The likelihood is that this clarinet dates to the 1950s, the serial numbers are 224N1, and given this the condition is outstanding. The m'piece is a used Vandoren 5RV in good condition. The original case shows some interior wear but still latched securely. A dust cover has helped to protect it. A sling is also provided. The easy response, and excellent intonation of this Alto, easily put it well in advance of anything currently for sale.
