Selmer, Paris, Bass Clarinet to low E Flat
An excellent Selmer, Paris, Bass Clarinet to low Eb. This instrument was part of a large collection of instruments owned by a leading London professional, he owned 6 professional Bass Clarinets, and this is the example that he used mainly. The Nickel Silver plating is in very good condition throughout with no wear. The wood is in very good condition with only a couple of tiny chips to the bottom tenon edge of the upper joint, see photo 4. This example has matching serial nos. C6173, dating to the mid-1980s, it therefore features all modern options: A double overblowing vent, a compensating low G/D vent, articulated C#/G# and LH Ab/Eb. The pads are a mixture of older and newer tan leather, with the larger pads having reflectors, all are in good condition. This instrument was carefully & regularly maintained, as it was the default choice for all work. The m'piece is a Selmer C85 115, which has a medium open, and medium long lay. The case is a BAM in good used condition. This Bass plays exceptionally well, and is an outstanding example, it would suit a professional looking for a fine low Eb Bass.
