Pair of Boosey & Hawkes Imperial 926 Clarinets
A very good condition pair of Boosey &Hawkes Imperial 926 clarinets which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The 926 Imperial was B & H's top professional model, alongside the larger bore 1010. This pair have been exceptionally well cared for, and belonged formerly to the Hallam family, Norman Hallam was for many years second clarinet of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and though a 1010 player himself, he selected these for a close family member.
The Bb has matching serial nos. 476970, it has pristine condition Silver plating throughout. The wood is in fine condition with no cracks or damage. Both clarinets have excellent condition used tan leather pads throughout. A very good condition 926 m'piece is also supplied.
The A has matching serial nos. 414302. As with the Bb the wood condition is excellent, though one of the 2 supplied barrels has a short from an Emperor set, but this does at least have the advantage of providing 2 interchangeable barrels of different lengths for tuning. Again it has very good condition tan leather pads throughout. The Silver plating is very fine. This pair play with a lovely warm sound and excellent intonation, and come in the original B&H plush double case.
