Selmer Series 9, Full Mazzeo B Flat Clarinet

This instrument demonstrates the most complete and full Mazzeo system. For those unfamiliar with the this, the mechanism facilitates the production of a good throat Bb by using additional key work to open the third trill key in conjunction with throat A. Thus an excellent throat Bb can be produced by touching any of the rings from LH 2 down, with the throat A key. This system can be disconnected at will by sliding down a cylinder placed on top of the third trill key. In addition to all the usual Full Boehm refinements this clarinet offers the following: 1. There is a low E/F#, B/C# articulated trill mechanism. 2. An extra LH low Eb/Bb lever. 3. An additional linkage to the first sliver key on the lower joint, and the low Ab/Eb key, which allows for trilling E to Eb/B to Bb, or throat A to Bb. 4. Finally a unique wheel attachment to the throat A key which is, again a connection to 3rd side key Bb. This can be extended or disconnected at will by sliding the cogged wheel. In other words the linkage to the 3rd trill key can be disconnected by the player should they wish the clarinet to function as a standard Boehm.
This Series 9 Bb has matching serial nos. T9183, which dates to 1964. When this clarinet was manufactured it featured the most advanced mechanism in production. All wood is in pristine condition, as is the nickel silver key work. The instrument has just had a complete overhaul in finest Pisoni Tan leather pads and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The original case is in very good condition, as is the supplied Selmer m'piece, which has an open Jazz lay.
