Rossi, French Bore, A Clarinet
A very fine early Luis Rossi French bore model clarinet. The sole previous owner is a Spanish professional player, and he used this instrument in his capacity as Principal Clarinet with the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra. With a poly-cylindrical bore this clarinet is based on the Buffet R13, though acoustically it is vastly superior. In common with all Rossi clarinets the instrument is in a single piece which allows the correct positioning of the C#/G# hole.
This A S/N F078 is in very good condition, with mainly used white leather pads throughout. The instrument has been down to our workshop with pads, touch and tenon corks replaced as necessary, and the key work regulated. The wood is in pristine condition, with no cracks or damage. The silver plating is in excellent condition throughout with no wear. The clarinet has had a screw threaded hole fitted above the thumb rest for an additional sling attachment, NB not supplied.
There are 4 barrels, of 70.5 mm, 70.1 mm, 68.0 mm, and 69.5 0mm. The case is in good condition.
