Leblanc, LL, Full Boehm B Flat Clarinet
This good condition Leblanc LL Full Boehm Bb clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, the last owner being a UK professional Jazz player. The LL, named for Leon Leblanc [the son of the founder of Leblanc, George] was Leblanc's premier design of the 1960s. With a bore of 14.80mm, the design sits in the middle of bore sizes, and this results in a warm sounding clarinet with exemplary evenness and intonation: Indeed, so successful was this design that it continued in manufacture right up until 2009, when Leblanc was sold to Buffet. The intonation and response is the equal of the most expensive French instruments sold today. This is a full Boehm with all the "bells and whistles"; articulated C sharp/ G sharp, LH Ab/Eb lever and bottom Eb key, & fork Eb/Bb. The clarinet has matching serial nos. 51122. The Silver plate is in excellent condition, with no discernible wear. The wood is in overall fine condition, with no cracks or repairs, though there are some minor surface scratches to the wood, all normal signs of use. The pads are used tan leather, all sealing well and in good condition. All pieces are matching and original with Leblanc stamps. The case is in good condition. The mouthpiece is an early Selmer C**, in good condition.
