Cabart, Paris, Pair of Clarinets
These are an excellent condition pair of Cabart clarinets, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Cabart was a fine French maker pre WW2. The pair are enhanced Boehm; with 7 rings, providing a fork Eb/Bb, and articulated C#/G#.
There is no damage to the Grenadilla wood which is in fine order throughout. The pair have been recently completely overhauled in tan leather, with new tenon and touch corks, andhave not been played since this comprehensive overhaul. The key work is Maillechort, German Silver, and is in fine order throughout. The joints are a good fit and there is no joint wobble. The clarinets plays extremely well, very even and with a fine tone. The supplied m'piece is an original Cabart. All pieces are original apart from the shorter barrel, which has no stamp. These instruments will play well with most modern French bore m'pieces, including Vandoren series. The case is of modern gig bag type and protects the instruments well.
If desired the pair can be split as follows: A in double case with short barrel for £375. Bb in single case with original barrel and m'piece for £345.
