Boosey & Hawkes Imperial 926 B Flat Clarinet
This Imperial 926 Bb Clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Imperial 926 was manufactured as a professional quality instrument on a par with the Imperial Symphony 1010, but with a bore of 15.0mm, as opposed to the 15.25mm of the 1010.
This Bb, with matching serial nos. 479043, has wood with no cracks or repairs, only slight surface marks associated with normal use. The Silver plate shows wear, mainly to the ring finger touch pieces, and there is some discolouration to the RH low E/B key. The pads are a mixture of leather and fish skin which are used, but all sealing well. The bell is a replacement from a B & H Emperor Bb in good condition. The bores of the Emperor and 926 Imperial were identical. The supplied m'piece is a new, old stock, G. Howarth No. 1 of 926 bore. The case is much used, with wear to the handle, but it latches securely .
