A good condition pair of Buffet E11 clarinets, in Grenadilla wood, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. These instruments are Buffet's semi-professional model. In recent years the Buffet badged "France" Bb clarinet E11 model, which was made in the old Leblanc factory, gained an extremely poor reputation for build quality. So much so, that Buffet have deleted this model from their line up and, confusingly, renamed it the E12. Fortunately these E11s were made in Germany, before the move in manufacture to the French Leblanc factory and are, therefore, significantly better made instruments. The Bb has Silver plated key work in excellent condition. The instrument has a mixture of used white and tan leather pads which are sealing very well. The wood has no cracks or damage, just slight surface marks and scratches. The matching serial numbers are 874544. The A is an older E11 with serial numbers 415076. It has nickel plate which shows some surface patina, but no significant wear. The pads are are all used fish skin, again sealing well. This A comes with 2 barrels a 63mm and a 64.5mm. This pair comes in the original Buffet case, which is in very good condition, and comes with the keys. If desired the pair can be split as follows: A in double case with 2 barrels for £545.00.
