Yamaha 621 Bass Clarinet
This is a very good condition Yamaha 621 I Bass Clarinet to low Eb, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has had only one amateur owner from new. The pads are mainly fish skin with the larger pads in white leather, with the bottom pads fitted with reflectors. Though the pads are well used, all are sealing well. The silver plating is very good throughout, with only slight wear. The bell and crook are both in good condition, there are some slight scratches to the bell. The matching serial numbers are 01139. The case does show some signs of use, with exterior scuffs and interior stains, however it latches and protects the Bass well. This instrument plays easily and comfortably across the entire range. The Yamaha design, in common with top of the range rival offerings from Buffet and Selmer, features an automatic double over-blowing vent for the 2nd register, and a LH A/Eb key. The m'piece is the original in good condition. In summation this is an excellent quality Bass to low Eb which is offered a a substantial reduction on the price of the equivalent new model the 622 II which retails for £7700.
