Pair of Selmer, Series 9, Clarinets
A good condition pair of Selmer Series 9 Clarinets, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The 9* was marketed by Selmer as "pour la musique symphonique", the 9 was "pour le jazz et les varietes." The matching serial numbers on the Bb are U2019, dating to 1965. The Silver keywork shows some slight pitting and loss, please select the photos and hover with your mouse to view in "close up". The Grenadilla wood is in good condition for an instrument of this vintage, apart from minor surface marks there are no cracks or repairs. The clarinet has used fish skin pads which are sealing well. The Series 9 measures 15.25mm at the top of the reverse cone of the upper joint, making it the largest bore Selmer clarinet made. The A has matching serial numbers are S0332, dating to 1960. The Nickel Silver keywork is in excellent condition with no plating loss. The Grenadilla wood is in good condition for an instrument of this vintage, with no cracks or repairs. The instrument has used fish skin pads on the upper joint and super pads on the lower all of which are sealing well. The m'piece is a used Selmer C85 120, and there are 2 original barrels The case is a Bufet Prestige model in excellent condition.
