Selmer, "Cigar Cutter", Tenor Saxophone
A very fine condition Selmer "Cigar Cutter" Tenor Saxophone, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. It is one of two such models which the same London based professional owned. This example is unusual in that a previous owner had the crook gold plated, and in many other respects it appears to have had much work done to it over the years: It has been re-lacquerd, the brace to the borttom bow is from a later Mark VII Selmer, the sling hook attachment has been replaced, it appears that the high F key was added at a later date, the L H thumb touchpiece is not original and most of the pearls seem to have been replaced. The body does show some small dings and scratches, all signs of normal use befitting a more than 90 year old vintage sax. This example has S/N 18249, dating to 1933. The pads are all excellent condition tan leather examples. It comes with an original Selmer C m'piece, & in a good condition Protech case. Also included is a stand, a sling, and a mute!
