Buffet, A Clarinet
NB This A now comes in a good condition Ortola double case not pictured. A fine condition early professional Buffet Crampon clarinet in A, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The serial numbers are 174M1, which dates to 1920. This A has German silver key work throughout which is in good condition, with a natural patina due to age.The clarinet has lightly used fish skin pads, all of which are in fine order, with the C#/G# key and register key in cork. The wood is in excellent condition, with no cracks or damage, though the upper joint tenons have been reinforced with metal rings presumably due to wear. The response and intonation are very fine, and the clarinet plays well with all standard French bore m'pieces. Indeed the last owner actually played this as a pair with a Buffet R13 Bb. The supplied BAM case is in excellent condition, and the clarinet comes with a Kooiman thumb rest. In summation; this vintage Buffet A will pair well with all modern Buffet Bb clarinets and is excellent value for money.
