Thibouville, B Flat Clarinet
A Thibouville Bb clarinet stamped " Concert" & "Fete de L'Armee", which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Thibouville were a large family of highly respected French manufacturers of clarinets active from at least the 17th Century through to 1950s. They had several factories, including at "La Couture" and "Ivry La Bataille".
This is a fine Grenadilla wood Bb with no cracks or damage, with a mixture of new and used fish skin pads, with serial number C751. The German Silver keywork is in excellent condition, and given that this instrument likely dates to the 1930s, the overall condition is very fine. The clarinets responds easily and sweetly, and would suit a player looking to progress from a resin or plastic instrument for very little outlay. The m'piece is the original Thibouville, and the case, whilst used is fully functional
