Selmer Mark VI, Tenor Saxophone, Tony Coe Collection
There can be few more iconic Mark VI Tenors than this example. This is the Selmer Mark VI Tenor, used for the sound track recordings of the Pink Panther Films, A Shot in the Dark, and subsequent films in the series, as well as the Mancini recordings. Tony Coe was probably one of the most successful Jazz musicians of his generation, and was a member of many bands including Humphrey Lyttleton's and John Dankworth's.
Please note this instrument has not been through our workshop for any service or adjustments. It is exactly as was used by Tony. There have been substantial modifications: To mention a few: the thumb rest has been removed and a soft thumb rest fitted to the rear of the F# pad. Metal attachments have been fitted to several of the trill keys and a palm key. The crook has either been altered or swapped for another example. The baffle of the Link 6* has been adjusted for increased brilliance.
