Matched Pair of Selmer 10S Clarinets
A good condition matched pair of Selmer 10S clarinets, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Selmer 10 Series was the first major model manufactured by Selmer to adopt a small bore undercut design, in the Buffet Crampon manner: Indeed with a bore of only 14.60mm, the 10S is even smaller in the bore than the Buffet R13. The clarinet is extremely lively, easy to play, and has excellent intonation.
This Bb, S/N D2845, dates to 1985. It has Nickel Silver plate in good condition, with some minor tarnish and wear. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, apart from some unfilled screw holes were the thumb rest has been repositioned, see photo 6. The pads are all tan leather in excellent condition, they will be good for several years to come. All pieces are original and have matching stamps. There are 2 supplied barrels, of 64.5mm and 66.5mm.
The A, matching S/N D3446, is in similar condition to the Bb, excepting that there is a pinned crack repair to the upper joint, see photos 2 & 3. There are 3 pins and the work is exemplary, having been carried out by Jon Steward of Howarth's. The clarinet cracked shortly after being purchased new. The m'piece is a used Selmer C85 120. The supplied case is A Buffet Prestige in mint condition.
