King Marigaux, Alto Clarinet
A rare SML King Marigaux Paris Alto clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Marigaux are best known for their world class oboes today but as part of Strasser Marigaux & Lemaire [SML] they also made clarinets & saxophones. In 1975 SML took over the Malerne factory in la Couture, France. This "King" Marigaux Alto is a top of the range professional model, with a compensating G/D vent, like a professional Bass, and a LH Ab/Eb key. The siver plated key work shows some spot wear, but is in overall good condition. The leather pads and corks are all in good condition, and the instrument has been down to our workshop for regulation. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, but the bell has numerous small dings and dents, and there is a solder repair to the tone hole and bottom brace, see photos. The damage is cosmetic only. The matching serial nos. are 2113. The supplied m'piece is a Yamaha 5C in good condition, as is the case. This is a fine professional quality French made Alto clarinet at a student Alto price.
