Matched Pair of Buffet Tosca Clarinets
Buffet Crampon is the undisputed finest volume maker of clarinets in the World today. These clarinets are one of their most expensive models, the Tosca which is the latest incarnation of the legendary R13 model.
This matched pair is in good condition. The wood is without cracks or damage, apart from a small chip to the bell rim of the Bb, see photo 13. The pair are single owner instruments and were bought new in the early 2010s. The design features an additional low F key with vent. The intonation and response are outstanding. The silver plating shows no wear, but there is an area of "blueing" to the plating near the LH "pinky" keys [ see the last photo] on both Bb and A, and also some wear to the tenon rings, mainly on 2 of the barrels. Both instruments have predominantly used white leather pads in good condition, with some cork pads also. The matching serial numbers are 536818 on the Bb, and 54338 on the A. There are 2 supplied barrels, of 65mm and 66mm for each clarinet. The condition of the Orly double case is good.
