Pair of Leblanc, Paris, LL Clarinets
These are a fair condition matched pair of enhanced Boehm 7 ring Leblanc LL clarinets, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The 7 ring mechanism allows for a fork Eb/Bb in the LH, and, with the articulated C#/G# mechanism, these are a most useful additions to the standard Boehm. This single owner pair was owned by a Jazz player from new. He initially purchased a Bb and later went to Leblanc Paris to select a matching A. The Leblanc LL, was named after Leon Leblanc, George's son. The design features an exceptionally even scale and intonation, and though introduced in the 1960s, was so successful that the model continued in manufacture right up until when the firm was sold to Buffet in 2009.
The Bb clarinet has matching serial nos. 18632, The Nickel Silver plate shows wear and tarnish throughout. The wood though showing surface marks and grain has no cracks or repairs. The instrument has used tan leather pads throughout, which are in good condition all are sealing well. The A has matching serial nos. 30446, again the Nickel Silver plate shows wear. The wood is in good condition, with no cracks or repairs. Like the Bb the instrument has Pisoni Tan leather pads, which are only lightly used. The pair comes with 2 barrels & the supplied m'piecse are a Weinberg M3 in used condition, and an original Leblanc 2. The original sturdy double case has been partly relined and has exterior scuffs, it still latches well. This pair would suit a player looking for a fine professional pair, at a bargain price.
