This is a fine condition Noblet, by Leblanc, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. It is an late model 60, the entry level professional Bass made by Leblanc, Paris.
The instrument is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, the last owner being a professional who was also a repairman, this example has been very well maintained. The Nickel Silver key work shows only slight spot wear to the ring finger touch pieces, it is approximately 95%. The wood is in good order but there is a repaired crack, with 2 pins in the area around the 2 top trill key pads, see photos 6 & 7 . The crook and bell are in very good condition no dings and only slight tarnish to the plating. The Bass has excellent condition finest Pisoni Premium Deluxe Tan Leather pads throughout. There is a floor peg attachment to the bell with spike, & also a sling hook. The matching serial nos. are 7891, dating to the 1970s. The case shows scuffs to the exterior and wear to the interior, but is in good condition, and it has the sticker of the original supplying dealer, Bill Lewington. The m'piece is a Vandoren B45 in fair condition. In summation, this is an good example of this popular Bass. It would suit a professional player, or doubler, on a budget.
