Boosey & Hawkes Imperial E Flat Clarinet
This is a Boosey and Hawkes Imperial, Eb Clarinet in ebonite, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This Eb was formerly owned by a UK based professional.
The Nickel Silver plated key work shows hardly any wear it is excellent throughout. There are no cracks or repairs to the body, which is in good condition. The instrument has used fish skin pads, which are sealing well. The serial nos. are 226702, which dates to the 1960's. There are 2 mouthpieces: a Selmer C* or a Vandoren 5RV, both have had their tenons adapted to fit the Imperial Eb. A selection of Buffet Prestige No.4 reeds are also supploed, as is a marching band lyre. These Ebs were mainly made for marching band use. In summation this Eb plays with a mellow, broad sound, and with excellent intonation. It would suit a player looking for a bargain priced top quality Eb.
