Matched Pair of Vintage Buffet R13 Clarinets
A very good condition matched pair of vintage Buffet R13 clarinets. The Bb has matching serial nos. F53250, and the A S/N 53498 which date the pair to 1955. Back then these were the finest professional instrument Buffet made, with unstained, matched wood. This was before the introduction of the ""Prestige" range, which effectively downgraded the standard R13 considerably. These days R13's are made from inferior quality wood which is stained to hide imperfections. All pieces are matching and original, and stamped "Buffet". Though an additional shorter 64.5mm more modern Buffet barrel is also supplied for the A clarinet. The German Silver keywork is in good condition throughout, with a natural surface patina. The wood is also in good used condition, with only minor surface marks and scratches. Both clarinets have had a full overhaul in fish skin pads in our workshop, with touch and tenon corks replaced, and are sold with our full 1 year warranty. The bells have the stamp of the sole UK importer for Buffet at that time, "Dallas". The m'piece is a used Vandoren M13 in nice condition. The case, which dates to the 1980s hows some stains to the interior, and exterior scuffs, but still latches and protects the clarinets well.
