Buffet, Bass Clarinet to low E Flat
This is a near mint condition Buffet Bass Clarinet model 1180 in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. This Bass is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, & has had only one careful owner from new in the UK. This is the re-designed and latest model of the 1180 which is now made in Germany by Schreiber for Buffet. The lower joint has been lengthened and the the low Eb pad is now integral to that joint, with a vent on the bell. The register key vent, a single overblowing design, has also been redesigned for improved venting and reliability. All the plated key work is in pristine condition, with no wear or scratches. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is likewise in perfect condition. The only reason that the instrument can only be described as "near mint" is because the original m'piece and cap are not present, instead a Vito student m'pece is provided. The instrument is padded throughout in white leather pads of the finest quality, all are in good condition. The matching serial nos. are BO01466 and the original case is also in excellent condition, and comes with the keys. There is a floor peg attachment to the bell, as well as a sling hook. This Bass responds extremely well, and would make an ideal purchase for a player looking for a fine quality low Eb Bass. This model currently lists new for approximately £4800 here in the UK, and this instrument is outstanding value for money.
