Leblanc, Paris, LL B Flat Clarinet
This is a good condition enhanced Boehm 7 ring Leblanc LL clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument features all the "bells and whistles" [excepting a low Eb] which makes it almost Full Boehm, i.e. fork Eb/Bb, LH Ab/Eb, & articulated C#/G#. The Leblanc LL, was named after Leon Leblanc, George's son. The design features an exceptionally even scale and intonation, and though introduced in the 1960s, was so successful that the model continued in manufacture right up until when the firm was sold to Buffet in 2009.
This Bb clarinet has matching serial nos. 36405, The Nickel Silver plate is in good condition, with only slight wear, mainly to the ring fingers and throat G# key. The wood is also in very good condition, but there is one pinned sealed crack to the upper joint, which runs through the LH pillar of the register key. It does not go through a tone hole, nor into the bore. The instrument has used tan leather pads throughout, all are sealing well. It comes with a Vandoren 5RV Lyre m'piece in a good condition single case.
