Selmer, Pre-Centered Tone B Flat Clarinet
A Selmer Paris clarinet, this model, featuring a circular register key mounting is normally referred to as a pre-Centered Tone. This instrument was formerly owned by an English professional Jazz player and has seen much use. The Bb has matching serial numbers, N2907, which dates to 1948. The wood is in fair condition, with no cracks or repairs, but there are numerous surface marks and nicks, associated with a long and busy professional career. The German Silver key work shows a heavy natural patina, but no wear. The pads are all tan leather, in very good used condition. Our workshop has thoroughly checked this instrument over, with regulation and touch corks attended to as necessary. The m'piece is a Vandoren 7JB, an extreme Jazz lay, very open. There is no damage to tip or rails but the use of a Rovner ligature has left severe scratches to the rear of the m'piece. The case is heavily used, with interior stains, but it still, latches and protects the clarinet well.
