Matched Pair of Selmer, Pre-Centered Tone Clarinets
If desired the pair can be split as follows: A in double case for £445.00. Bb in a single case for £395.00
A matched pair of Selmer Paris Clarinets, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instruments were formerly owned my Martin Beeston, an English professional and have seen much use. The Bb has matching serial numbers, N3617, which dates to 1949. The wood is in fair condition, with no cracks or repairs, but there are numerous surface marks and nicks, associated with a long and busy professional career. The German Silver key work shows a heavy natural patina, but no wear. The pads are all tan leather, in very used condition. The lowest tenon has a thread repair to increase the cork thickness. Our workshop is simply too busy to give his pair the overhaul that they will shortly need. Therefore they are offered at a bargain price, "as is". Both clarinets play in their current condition. This model, featuring a circular register key mounting is normally referred to as a pre-Centered Tone.
The A, matching serial numbers N4854, dating to 1949, is in good condition, having seen less use that the Bb. Again there are no cracks or damage to the wood, and the tan leather pads and key work are in a similar condition to the Bb. The instruments come with 2 used Selmer HS m'pieces, and in a good condition double case.
